Welcome to the webpage of Donly - sports club of Donovaly.
Our club is a volunteer self-governing union of northern dog breeders, sled dog runners, supporters and fans of this sport. In addition, we perform other sports activities such as mountain tracking and we organize sports, social and cultural events.
The club was founded in autumn 1994. Today, the member base includes no less than hundred fans and runners - mushers which makes it the greatest sports club of this kind in Slovakia. The membership to the club is annual and has to be renewed each year. During fourteen years of our existence, the club has been joined by more than hundred excellent runners who have brought fame to the club by winning World and European Championships. According to results in Slovak Cup the club has been ranked the best for several years already.
We have been twice organizers of World Championship, twice of European Championship and five times of FISTC European Cup in Sled Dog Racing - Sprint.
The club’s headquarters are in Donovaly where there are displayed our numerous prizes, history and documentary features. Here the club helps and takes care of its runners - mushers. We are proud of our well built race trails, attractive surroundings, beautiful nature, a bronze dog statue of malamute Dino that is the only one in Slovakia, and of our friendly and honest attitude towards all people of goodwill.
